After sharing the pear pie with you on Tuesday, we hopped onto a plane and landed in Denver just in time for…the first major winter storm of the season. Blanketing pretty much all of Colorado in a coat of white ice, the past few days have been a thrilling but nerve-wrecking experience, driving through slush and icy road conditions with limited visibility. In the words of our waiter at Fogo de Chao, “You guys chose a bad time to come to Denver!!”
But did that stop me from exploring the city’s restaurants? Of course not! We’ve had some fantastic and not-so fantastic meals which I’m excited to tell you about (the fantastic meals, I mean), but for now, pictures!

We head back to California tonight, and I’m looking forward to reuniting with our Mac again, my esteemed partner-in-crime for Bon Vivant. Have a great weekend and may your Halloween be Ghoulishly and Terrifyingly fun!

Such beautiful photos. I have a friend who lives near Denver and has been telling me about all the snow they have been getting. Weather’s nice here in San Jose!

Hah, we managed to visit Denver about 2 years ago right after they had two huge snowstorms in a row. We pretty much holed up at a friend’s house with booze and board games. Your photos are wonderful though!

So, so crazy. I was just there last month and it was gorgeous, then my brother went last week and it was flurrying and now you go and THIS? Just so, so crazy! Glad you still had fun and glad you didn’t let it stop you from exploring. Loved the photos.

I hope you had fun in my city! The snow was pretty intense for a couple of days, but then it was in the 50s & 60s on Friday & Saturday – CO weather keeps you on your toes

Hi Danielle,
Your site is beautiful and you have a great eye for photos. It was great meeting you at the workshop on Saturday, and I look forward to reading more of what you’ve been up to…

The weather sounds crazier than what we get in New England. Glad you were able to venture out and try some new restos. I hope you had fun!

Mrs L: The snow was gorgeous, but after a day of it, I was missing California’s sun!
Shannalee: Yup, Colorado’s quirky that way – Vanessa’s got it right that it sure does keep you on your toes, lol
Patricia: It was great meeting you too!
El: I think Colorado’s weather is generally pretty mild, but they are susceptible to these extreme storms once in a while. We were just ‘lucky’ (depending on how you see it :p)
Thanks everyone for your kind words!

I grew up in the midwest and I must say that your photos made me miss the snow, the slush, and the bite of a cold winter day.

Eric: For this tropical girl, two days of snow were more than enough for me, but I have to admit, the morning after a snowfall is a pretty magical time, I think it’s the silence that makes it so special too. Heading back home for Christmas?
